Last week Museum Development Officers (MDOs) gathered together in Swindon for our annual conference. The conference is an opportunity for MDOs from across the country to get together and discuss our work.
This year Jude Habib from Soundelivery (a social and digital media company) attended our conference. Jude was mighly impressed by us MDOs. She commented on the engergy and enthusiasm MDOs generate; however, she noted that whilst MDOs are excellent at supporting our museums, we are not so good at telling the good stories that our work generates.
Jude’s comments were welcomed, and the conference then went onto consider how we can be better at telling those all important stories. Do you have any ideas of how we can tell the stories from our sector better? MDOs would love to hear from you.
Jude very kindly wrote a short piece for the Guardian Professional Network about our conference. You can view a short overview of this post on the Museums Association website at http://bit.ly/MLIPYV
